Filling TechnologyAir Suspension Filling Systems for the Automotive Industry
Our globally proven filling systems reliably fill air suspensions and pressure accumulators during the final vehicle assembly. The filling systems are customised according to your specific requirements.
- Comprehensive system integration
- Versatile valve control
- High ergonomics
Product VariantsCustomised solutions for every application
Our systems fill air suspensions and pressure accumulators with dry, filtered air. The vehicle is connected through an ergonomic filling head and a valve control interface. Typically, one or more of the following system variants are used:
01
Accompanying filling systems
A solution for line manufacturing, where a filling trolley with an attachment arm accompanies the vehicle over several stations. After filling, the trolley returns to its starting position using a pneumatic friction wheel drive.
02
Swivel arm filling systems
A stationary version of our filling system with a swivel arm for easy connection of the filling adapter within the production station. The whole station is typically delivered on wheels, making it easily movable.
03
Workshop solution
A small filling system on a mobile trolley, designed for small series or as a backup for reworks. Filling is done using nitrogen instead of dry air in this case.
System integrationComprehensive automation & integration
The design of the filling system is tailored to your specific needs. The included industrial PC (IPC) can be integrated into the overarching production and company network, for example, to automatically retrieve vehicle information. Vehicle identification can also be partially or fully automated using expansions such as barcode readers, RFID readers, or localisation systems.
Innovative filling adapterErgonomic filling head, flexible valve control
Our ergonomic filling head is small, lightweight, intuitive, and yet robust. It can be operated easily with one hand. Valve control is achieved either via an electric plug adapter directly at the valve block or through On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) using CAN, CAN-FD, or LIN protocols.
Test & calibration trolleySimple troubleshooting
A test and calibration trolley is available for system tests and diagnostics. Once the filling system is connected, the trolley simulates a real vehicle. Thanks to comprehensive sensors, it provides insights into the condition of the filling system. All system functions can be tested individually.
Your advantagesAll benefits at a glance
Customised filling systems
Your filling system is designed according to your individual needs. Generally, our customers request an accompanying filling system, a stationary filling system with a swivel arm, or a mobile solution for small series or as a rework strategy.
Comprehensive system integration & automation
We integrate the industrial PC (IPC) of the filling system into your production or company network, for example to automatically retrieve vehicle information. Barcode readers, RFID readers, or localisation systems accelerate vehicle identification. Receipt printers can also be added upon request.
Ergonomic filling head
Our filling head is small, lightweight, yet very robust. It can be intuitively operated with one hand.
Flexible valve control
We offer valve control through the following methods: either an electric plug adapter is connected directly to the valve block for electrical control, or we provide control through On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) using CAN, CAN-FD, or LIN protocols.
Simple Diagnosis & Maintenance
As an accessory, we provide a test and calibration trolley. It is connected to the filling system just like a vehicle and simulates it. The integrated sensors in the trolley provide information about the condition of the filling system. All system components can be individually tested.
Intuitive user interface
The industrial PC (IPC) in the filling system is equipped with an intuitive user interface. Workers can quickly and easily operate the filling system, view analyses, etc.
High quality, ease of maintenance
At Quintest, we adhere to the highest quality standards. Our air suspension filling systems are proven worldwide and have often been in reliable operation for over 20 years. The system meets the IP 55 protection standard. Maintenance is mostly limited to pneumatic components such as the compressor, adsorption dryer, air filter, and Aquamat.
Reliable and long-term support
At Quintest, we have many years of international experience. We strive to implement every customer requirement. Our support team is available to assist you during commissioning and beyond.
Detailed product descriptionAir suspension filling process in detail
Our air suspension filling systems are used in the final assembly of automotive manufacturers and are designed for filling air suspensions and pressure accumulators in vehicles.
Before air can be filled into the vehicle, it is dried within the filling system by lowering the temperature to at least the dew point of -42 °C. Additionally, particle fine filtration (0.01 μm) is employed.
Before the filling itself, the vehicle is identified, for example, by scanning a barcode or automatically using RFID or localisation systems. The industrial PC (IPC) in the filling system retrieves the relevant vehicle parameters from the production network.
The operator then connects the filling head and an electric plug adapter or OBD connector for valve control to the vehicle. The system controls the valves of the vehicle and fills the air suspension based on the vehicle model. The filling is either time-controlled or to a target pressure within a set cycle time.
In the accompanying version, after removing the filling head and control connector, the accompanying trolley safely returns to its starting position using a pneumatic friction wheel drive. The filling system is then ready for the next vehicle.
Reports related to the filling process are stored in a local database on the IPC. If desired, the data can also be sent to destinations within the production or company network. A receipt printer is also often integrated into the system.
