Force-Displacement MeasurementBrake Pedal Test Stand for the Automotive Industry
Our brake pedal test stand reliably identifies leaks and air bubbles in the brake system. For an early fault detection, it is typically used shortly after the brake filling process.
- Comprehensive system integration
- High degree of automation
- Innovative battery concept

Industrial air bubble & leakage testReliable tightness testing, easy handling & comprehensive integration
Our mobile brake pedal testing device checks your brake system for air bubbles and leaks. It is placed into the vehicle along with an adapter frame. During testing, the system applies pressure to the brake pedal according to your specifications and records both force and displacement. If the force-displacement test results deviate significantly from the reference values, it strongly indicates a defect.
- Displacement 0 – 200 mm
- Force 0 – 1,000 N (limited)
- Batteries Off-the-shelf Li-Ion batteries (12 V)
- Wireless standards Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
- Housing Aluminium
- Operating life 20 years

Force-displacement test equipmentSystem components
Our brake pedal test stand consists of one or more mobile force-displacement testers (ECheckers) and corresponding vehicle adapter frames, a base station with an industrial PC (IPC), a calibration device, and a battery charging station. The EChecker and base station communicate via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Custom force-displacement testerComprehensive automation & integration
The base station is customized according to your needs. The integrated IPC can be easily connected to the overarching production and company network, for example, to automatically retrieve vehicle information or report brake leak test results. The vehicle recognition can also be partially or fully automated using extensions such as barcode readers, RFID readers, or localisation systems.
Innovative battery conceptBattery replacement without downtime
Our mobile tightness testing devices are powered by two interchangeable off-the-shelf batteries. This allows for easy and cost-effective procurement of spare batteries. Unlike solutions with built-in batteries, no expensive second brake pedal tester is required to maintain production during the charging process.
Moreover, the two batteries can be replaced one after the other. This ensures the device always has enough power to keep the wireless connection to the base station, eliminating the need for time-consuming reconnections.

Advantages brake pedal testingAll benefits at a glance
Early fault detection
Our brake tightness test stand is typically used as an in-line test system directly after brake filling. Through force-displacement measurement, leaks or air bubbles in the brake system are reliably and early detected, allowing you to respond quickly and avoid further damage.
Custom base station & comprehensive integration
The base station of our air bubble and leakage test stand is customized to your needs. The integrated industrial PC (IPC) can be easily connected to the overarching production or company network, for example to retrieve vehicle information or transmit brake pedal testing results.
Custom expansion
We expand our brake air bubble and leak test stand as required. Barcode readers, RFID readers, or localization systems are frequently requested for (semi-)automatic vehicle recognition. Also, we have integrated receipt printers into the system multiple times to record leakage measurement results.
Mobile testing devices (EChecker)
Thanks to the wireless connection (either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) and battery operation, operators can conveniently and efficiently place (and remove) our brake tightness testing device (EChecker) in the target vehicle.
Innovative battery concept
Our mobile force-displacement testing devices (EChecker) are powered by two off-the-shelf 12 V batteries. These are cost-efficient, can be stocked in large quantities, and quickly replaced in case of defects. Unlike systems with built-in batteries, there is no need for a second EChecker to cover charging times, saving costs. The battery can be replaced without interrupting the wireless connection, ensuring uninterrupted manufacturing.
Intuitive usage
The base station of our brake tightness test stand (with industrial PC, IPC) is typically mobile and can be positioned by the operator as desired. The user interface visualizes force-displacement measurement results and is intuitive for operators to use.
High quality and maintenance-free
At Quintest, we adhere to the highest quality standards. Our force-displacement test equipment is proven worldwide and has been reliably in use for over 20 years in many cases. The base station is rated IP 55, and the leakage measurement device (EChecker) comes in a robust aluminium housing with a plastic handle. The test stand is largely maintenance-free, with only the off-the-shelf batteries needing low-cost replacement when worn out.
Reliable & long-term support
At Quintest, we have long-standing international experience. We strive to meet every customer requirement. Our support is gladly available to you, both during commissioning of your air bubble and leakage testing solution and in the long term.
Brake tightness testTest cycle procedure
The brake pedal test stand consists of a base station with an industrial PC, one or more mobile brake tightness testing devices (ECheckers), one or more vehicle adapter frames, a battery charging station, and a calibration station. The base station is customized to your needs, often including expansions like receipt printers, barcode readers, RFID readers, or localization systems. The vehicle adapter frames are also tailored to your requirements and can work with or without a built-in driver’s seat.
Before the test, the operator places the vehicle-specific adapter frame together with the brake pedal tester inside the vehicle. Then, vehicle recognition is carried out, usually by scanning a barcode or via RFID. The base station retrieves the vehicle model and type from the higher-level production system and transmits the model-specific parameters wirelessly (via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) to the brake pedal tester.
Once the operator presses the start button, testing begins. The brake pedal tester pushes the brake pedal according to a manufacturer-defined procedure. Force and displacement are continuously measured, and the results are wirelessly transmitted back to the base station. The results of the air bubble and leakage measurement are stored in a local database and can also be sent to designated targets in the production or company network.
Based on the test results, it can be determined whether air is trapped in the brake system (so-called “soft brake”). Leaks can also be detected. The test stand is typically used shortly after brake filling to ensure the quality of the brake system early.
After the air bubble and leakage test, the operator removes the force-displacement tester and adapter frame from the vehicle. The air bubble and leakage testing system is immediately ready for the next test cycle.
